Hide “Task View” from Taskbar

Windows 11 will automatically add the Task View to your Taskbar. This can clutter up your Windows Experience. If you want to remove this Task view this page will help!

Fix It with CL Debloat

  1. Download CL Debloat here.
  2. Click Downloads in your Browser (Ctrl +J will open the downloads directly) and click the “CLDebloatSetup.exe” file and follow the prompt.
  3. Once installed click the CL Debloat icon on the desktop.
  4. Under the Visual tab, check the “Hide “Task View” from Taskbar” box and click Apply.

That’s it! The Hide “Task View” will be removed from your Taskbar.

Fix It with Windows 11 Settings

  1. Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar.
  2. Click the “Show Task View button” to uncheck it.

Fix It with Registry Editor

  1. Click on Search (or Start) of Windows and, “regedit” and select the Register Editor.
  2. In the top left of the Registry Editor navigate to the following
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
  3. Right-click the Search folder, select to New and choose DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  4. Name the key “ShowTaskViewButton” and press enter.

The default value for your new key will be “0” which will hide the Task view in the taskbar.

How to Restore Task View in the Taskbar with CL Debloat

Using CL Debloat you can easily undo this:

  1. Launch CL Debloat and select the Visual Tab
  2. Uncheck the “Hide “Task View” from Taskbar” option and click Apply.

The Task View will be restored to the task bar.

How to Restore the Task View Using Other Methods

Method 1: You can restore the Task View in Windows 11 settings using the following steps:

  1. Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar.
  2. Click the “Show Task View button” to check it.

The Task view will be restored.

Method 2: You can restore the Search icon with the Registry Editor as well:

  1. Click on Search (or Start) of Windows and, “regedit” and select the Register Editor.
  2. In the top left of the Registry Editor navigate to the following
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
  3. Edit the key “ShowTaskViewButton” key and change the “0” to a “1”.

This will restore the task view on the bar.
